PSE, PSP and Photoshop

I have a new poll out on which software do you use to scrap with.

I have been asked ALOT on which software I use and prefer so I would like to share with you :)

I have been a PSPer for years. It was my first purchased software and pretty much the only one for at least 5 years - I have been doing mostly tagging and website design. I had access to Photoshop on my work laptop but it has intimidated me greatly so remained untouchable for the time being.

Last year I have discovered digital scrapbooking and with that ventured into PSE 7 land. I fell in love with the software - so easy to use and novice friendly. I had explored layer styles and actions and was amazed! After using PSE 7 for awhile I decided to play around with Photoshop. I am still learning every day and play around making my own styles and actions. I think that PSE7 and Photoshop ROCK!! I barely use PSP now but have to admit that it is a great program.

So which program do you USE and LOVE? :)

I don't design only do LO's and I use an old Broderbund program...

It's all I use so it's very important for kits to be in png and jpeg, Broderbund as far as I know won't work with psp or psd, not the one I have anyhow.

I may grow up some day until then my xp and broderbund with do for now...lol... until one or the other packs it in.

You make beautiful kits! Thank you for all your goodies!

Hugz!

I have Photoshop CS4 and I find it not really user friendly. I have a hard time figuring out how to do the simplest things, I find it very convoluted, compared to my scrapbooking program (which is Storybook Creator by Creative Memories, which is VERY user friendly, although limited in regards to photo editing.) So in the end, I use CS4 for photo editing and playing with actions and such, (and using templates) and I use Storybook for my digital layouts as I find it easier to use, and I'm way faster that way. It's a great program if your photos are already edited, although once I learned how to use CS4 properly I may never go back...

I use PSP 8 & 9...can't afford to upgrade, but it doesn't really bother me. I have gotten used to the program, and I know my way around it, so I don't think I'll change for a while :)

I must say I started with PSE5 and had a hard time really getting in to it. I was finally able to figure it out with the help of my son, and then decied to go to CS3. Wrong...I couldn't make that jump. Husband bought PSE7 and it was alot like CS3 that i used that for about a month then deleted it from computer as well as PSE5 and fully went to CS3. Never looked back. I love it. I would like to try psp just to say I have learned that also, but probly won't cause i don't want the expense. CS3 will work! Thanks for all your great designs and action. Love them.

I use PSE7 and love it! So far it does what I want. Still learning new techniques all the time which makes it so much fun to me.

I use and love PSP7. I am a tagger, stat maker and have begun creating kits as well. I have tried PSP9 and PSPX but am most comforable with PSP7 so that is what I stick with.

I use PSE 7 and it is AWESOME!!! I actually started off using 5, but my sister upgraded to 7. After using the free 30 day trial version of 7, I HAD to have it!!!!

I'm new to all of this and am in the process of teaching myself PSE7. The more I use it, the more I like it. I think PS is too daunting to take on while I know nothing of graphics programs.

I use PSE 6 on my Mac and I love the program. It took me months of frustration to learn it, but after I caught on I found it terrific. One day, if I have the money, I might venture into CS4 or whatever they will have then.

I had JASC PSP and then Corel PSP and I liked them both. I really prefer Corel PSP for ONE thing.... and that's it's auto picture fix. It's just the best one there is for me. All my pictures come out lovely. I wish I would have kept it for that reason alone, but I fell in love with Photoshop CS4 before I realized the photo fix wasn't that great. I do love that program for every other respect though. It's just so easy to work with once you learn the short cuts and where everything is. If you have access to it, and the time to learn, you should definitely try it out... if you do more complex things, rather than just slapping together a scrapbook page. (I.E. recoloring, making your own elements, etc.)

We use PSP X2. We have used PSP for several years so it is familiar and easy to find our way around it.

We are learning our way around photoshop, it's a little intimidating but we loved your styles and actions so much that we thought we'd give it a try.

Thanks so much for sharing your talent with us. We love your work and you and your creative team always inspire us!

I started out with PSP, then went to Photoshop Elements and then to Photoshop CS3. I must say I still use them all. There are things I can do in one program that I can't do in the other. I am partial to CS3 though because I am totally addicted to actions and find them easiest to run in CS3. One thing I would like to add for those thinking of CS3 and don't like the price tag. SHOP AROUND...I found mine for $90.00 and yes it is the full version.

I have all versions of PSP right up to PSP 12. They are spread over 3 computers however I find I keep coming back to PSP7 because it is so user friendly. It is on all my PCs so I think I will probably always stick with version 7.

I use FxFoto. It cannot use psp or psd. I cannot imagine using any other program at my advanced age, for both financial reasons & the time needed to learn a new system. I have to get on & scrap a lifetime's photos in a hurry! FxFoto has the ability to create everything I need from a simple png or jpeg file. Photo editing is very simple yet sophisticated. Altogether a wonderful program.

I began with Photoshop 4, then went to Elements, Elements 2 (I dearly love ver 2 but can't run it on Win 7), vers 4-6, 9. I also have PSP 6-X3 and CS3,5. I mostly use Elements 6. I love the simplicity of the Elements application. There are times when I must use PSP because I need to do something and tuts are much easier to find for PSP. I was an expert in PSE 2 (in my own mind anyway, lol), but I'm just a user now. I'm learning over again. I also use Print Shop Deluxe23 & Publisher - habit for small projects like cards, posters. I'll pretty much give anything a try!
