Thank you for the pretty bow!

I had the hardest time shooting my own items for extracting until a photographer friend told me I needed a light box. You can buy them or make them yourself. I went the homemade route and it works beautifully. You basically need a big box, cut squares into the sides, and cover the squares with a thin white paper or material. Then you lay a large piece of paper in the back. I used a piece of inexpensive poster board cut to size. I use those inexpensive clamp on work lights with full spectrum light bulbs for my lighting. It has to be the full spectrum light bulbs or the light is yellow. I sit the box on the kitchen table, clamp the lights to the backs of my dining chairs, and shoot away. I use the "close-up" auto setting on my camera and it works great. Google DIY lightbox and you can probably find more detailed instructions to make one. It really helps by giving you a more even, natural light to the object without any harsh shadows.
